Modern: Can’t Touch This

Today, we touch on an amazingly annoying deck. It’s awesome because the only player that can touch the cards, is you. Instead of the old Green White Bogles deck, we’re brewing with a new build of Simic madness.

The Deck
This deck at only $22 will totally make you get your moneys worth. The goal of this deck is much like any other hexproof decks, buff your guy up with cheap enchantments and basically win the game like that. Much like its brethren, the green white Bogles deck, this deck can and will win the game fast.

The Creatures
This deck will be running 12 creatures that all have one thing in common. Hexproof. What we wanted to do was to use the same creatures in the boggles decklist, but we can’t. Slippery Bogle is just too expensive at $3. But have no fear BUDGET DECK WINS IS HERE. We’re still using some key cards like Gladecover Scout and Silhana Ledgewalker but we’re also playing an unblockable Rouge, Invisible Stalker.

This card can most definitely win the game on its own if you can get enough enchanments on it. And at only $0.78, This might be the best budget option we can think of.

The Auras
So, if we were playing white, we would be playing some Spirit Mantles and Unflinching Courage. But, since their too expensive for our Budget tongues, we’re running some Auras that literally FLY under the radar.

A playset of Spectral Flight and Eel Umbra only costs about $0.6 each. Budget friendly and hard hitters.

The other cards that I was trying to find a replacement for was Rancor. But its just too good to be replaced. Even if its about $2 each, we could still make up room for this crazy card.

Since this deck would want to win in the first 5 turns, we have to have some other one mana enchantments. Vineweft and Unstable Mutation are both great cards and fits directly with our budget theme.

Sure, Unstable Mutation would be a problem if you leave it for too long, but most of the time, you win before it can blow up. Vineweft is also one of those cards that get overlooked most of time but just having an aura that buffs your soldier is awesome.

The Other Cards
We know that any good deck needs some interaction with your opponents cards. That is why we are playing Dispels. So, if anyone one wants to counter your enchantments, you can simply say talk to the hand.

The other card that pushes our deck over the top is Giant Growth. Sure, its not an enchantment that stays on your guy for more than one turn, but having a pump spell for one turn to save your guy from a mass removal like Anger of the Gods would be nice too. And also, who doesn’t like some extra damage right?

Without wasting anymore of your time………… the Decklist.

As for the sideboard, you can play some cards like Icy Blast to make sure your opponent can’t block for two straight turns. Naturalize would be good too. Hatching Plans works well with Naturalize to get some draw spells in there.
