Today, we look into the recent commander set, Commander
2015.
The main commanders look budget friendly. I guess we have to
wait and see.
The logo looks pretty cool.
This card is pretty amazing if you can get enough
enchantments in the deck and believe me I don’t think getting those spirits
will be a problem. Before Tarkir, we visited a little place called THEROS. And
with the extremely awesome mechanic called Constellation,
it wouldn’t be that big of a problem
to get those experience tokens.
You can just slap in some of these wondress cards and before
you know it, you have 5/5 spirits
running all over the place.
But, as you know we’re BUDGET DECK WINS so we find a budget
way to almost everything. So, can this commander be budget enough? Absolutely.
A lot of cheap enchantments are running around that can support it pretty well
and some enchantments are just overlooked. All and all, budget card, budget
wins.
This lightning legged goblin is a dream for control EDH
players. Just imagine with Mizzix on board, with 5 or more experience counters,
you can almost play about anything with only one mana. Crazy.
But, can it be budget enough. I think so. I haven’t thought
about it all that much but I think we can get in enough overlooked cards for
this to work. Those pretty costly cards can be a dream for us with just playing
them for one two mana. Not as budget as It can ever be, but it works.
This commander is so much fun. So the gameplan is basically,
get a creature who has value when it enters. Get a sacrifice outlet, sac it for
more value. And the best part about that is that you can do it all over again
with Meren of Clan Nel Toth.
Especially with the new card, Zulaport Cutthroat you can
just sac it, get value return it again, get more value, it’s a loop. Super
Card.
But, the main question we had to answer: Can it be budget?
Yup, but I’m not good about it. Sure, some of the sac outlets and sac fodders
can take half of the deck, but some of the best cards are just too expensive
like Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. But still, recurring threats? Sign me up.
This would just be my favorite commander in this set. First
of all, without even counting the awesome abilities, IT’S A GIANT. That old
Giant Tribal deck gets a new commander, apart from Ruhan of the Fomori And Brion Stoutarm. Secondly,
having a 3/3 vigilance guy is pretty cool. But, having a 3/3 vigilance, double
strike guy is insane. Thirdly, Whenever you play a giant, You get an experience
counter. And it gets bigger every time you do it. How is that not insane.
Budget? Yes. And if
not, I’ll find a way to play this soldier. And in a BUDGET DECK WINS
perspective, Giants are just generally overlooked. Better for us, we find those
overlooked cards and slap them in this deck. I knew Iroas was good at picking
his disciples.
As always, Ezuri is back with his new claws and still wants
to be one with the elves. Actually, I don’t blame him, Elves are awesome.
Another Tribal deck is what Ezuri deserves. This time, instead of buffing your
troops for a turn, now you get to buff your troops permanently without using
any mana. Since whenever you play an elf you get an experience counter, Buffing
your troops would be sad for the other guy.
Will it budget? Maybe. Elves are the reason why tribal decks
exist, so, they’re not overlooked that much. I think we can take the rest of
the elves. While people are searching for Eternal Witnesses and Essence Wardens.
Also, I just wanted to point out that Confluences, are
awesome. Before this we had commands, but now, this just takes it to a whole
new level. We could gain 15 life off of Righteous Confluence, Or We could deal 6
damage of off Fiery Confluence. Its one of those days were the bus doesn’t stop
in value town.
